Why did I pick the name Spiderweb First Aid for my business? Well, it wasn't my first choice. I did like a lot of people do, I tried to find a catchy name that reflected my business through me. I Googled a lot of names and ideas but they were either taken or didn't quite fit what I was looking for. For some, first aid training is scary. Some think it's too hard or complicated to learn. I feel uncomfortable sitting in a class where the instructor starts adding medical terms to a group of people who are not in the medical field. I struggled all through school taking tests and I know others feel the same way. I started thinking about how to break down the complicated part of first aid and rewording it in a way that would make sense to me. The spiderweb idea just clicked. A spiderweb is very complex yet looks almost effortless when completed. I wanted my classes to feel effortless, where you just know stuff when the class is over. The quote on my business card says, "Life is like a spiderweb, interconnected and meaningful, yet simple and eloquent. How you learn to save a life should be also".
For me, Spiderweb First Aid is my way of saying, I understand this might look complicated but it's important knowledge to have. My job is to pass the training on to you in a way that feels effortless, like your not really learning, but when you leave, you just "get it".
Hopefully, you will feel the same way after attending one of my courses. Understanding WHY it works is the important part. HOW you get there is up to you. Once you see how everything connects together you find it's not as hard or as scary as you thought.
